Directions/Parking for the Fall 2018 Meeting at the University of Mary Washington

Conference participants may park in the university's parking deck on Alvey Drive, located off of Route 1 (building 40 on the campus map). Visitors may ignore the signs indicating parking restrictions: we have been granted access for Friday and Saturday and campus police is aware. In the rare event that the deck is full, attendees may also park in the lot just outside the exit at the lowest floor of the Alvey deck.

It is about a 10-minute walk from the deck to the conference site. Once on foot, leave the parking deck from the top-most level, entering campus and following the brick walkway between the buildings. Local volunteers may be on hand to direct foot-traffic.

Handicapped spaces have been reserved in the lot behind George Washington Hall (building 22), facing College Avenue. These spaces are only a few hundred yards from the conference site, accessible through sidewalks. Visitors with appropriate placards may park in any available handicapped spot on campus, regardless of the lot's designation.

Here is a campus map.

On the map, the main parking is building 40, and handicapped parking is behind building 22. All the Friday events are in building 51. On Saturday, registration, contributed talks, and lunch are in building 48. The invited addresses are in building 22. Here is a close-up of the campus map with the locations highlighted.
