2017 Iowa Section Teaching Award

Chris Spicer of Morningside College was awarded the 2017 MAA Iowa Section Award for Distinguished College or University Teaching of Mathematics.

Nominations for the 2018 MAA Iowa Section Award for Distinguished College or University Teaching of Mathematics are now being accepted. Please send any questions to Section Secretary, Susan Crook, susan.crook@loras.edu.

Iowa Collegiate Mathematics Competition and Competition Coordinator

The traveling trophy was presented at the fall section meeting to Grinnell College, winner of the 23rd annual competition in 2017. The 2018 competition will be held February 17 at Grinnell. See the contest page for further information.

Ruth Berger was recognized for her years of service as coordinator. The search for a new coordinator is in progress.
