Chair Elect), Susan Crook (Candidate for Vice Chair Elect), Mitch
Keller (Webmaster/Information Director), Chris Spicer (Vice Chair),
Carol Schumacher (VP of MAA), Ruth Berger (Competition Coordinator),
Lucas Bennet (Treasurer), Angie Kohlhaas (Chair), Matt Rissler (Liaison Coordinator).
- Approve the minutes from the Fall 2018 Executive Meeting and
Spring 2019 Executive Committee Meeting
- Fall Meeting Minutes-Amend to fix Chris' title to Vice Chair
Elect. Approved by voice vote unanimously.
- Spring Meeting Minutes-Amend titles to fix. Approved by
voice vote.
- Welcome to Visitors
- Vice-Chair Elect Candidates: Steve Butler and Susan Crook
- MAA representative: Carol Schumacher
- Reminder to update Operational Plans (Angie Kohlhaas)
- Discussion of who should introduce the speaker. Vice-Chair is in charge of introducing or finding an introducer.
- Add SectionNExT to Vice Chair Elect plan.
- Discussion of how it works in Ohio Section from Carol. Plans are
the good.
- Report from MathFest Section Officers' Meeting (Melissa Lindsey)
- Rotation of Speakers is changing to provide more speakers from AWM and NAM
- Carol-Leaving JMM lets MAA focus resources on the "front-lines of teaching", and section level while defending sectional identity and uniqueness.
- Tondeur Career Initiatives- Need students for these, do we need students? Funds might be able to be used at other events, such as MUMS.
- Discussion of decoupling location and Vice-Chair Elect, but that may require another person to planning process.
- Report on Mathematics Competition (Ruth Berger)
- 24 teams from 12 institutions. Won by University of Iowa. It was a no travel competition. Mixed results on whether continuing no travel is a good thing.
- Possible Julia Robinson Festival as pre-competition activity.
- Report from Treasurer (Lucas Bennet)
- Ended with $12000, but subvention wasn't in yet.
- about $7000-7500 is for the competition- maybe pay for lunch

Website overhaul (Mitch Keller)
- There is a plan coming for helping with website redesign from National.
- Possible pieces- Abstract Submission, Registration
PayPal is a pain and linked to Jonas.
- Carol - Is it possible to hire someone to refactor the website?
- Newsletter? Do we need to restart it? Recent ones didn't have
much content.
