Welcome!
As a tradition, AMC Coordinator of MAA-Michigan holds recognition ceremonies for
the Michigan award winners of the AMC competitions each year.
This year, we will hold our Awards Ceremony at Oakland University with Dr. Yvonne Lai,
a post-doctoral faculty member of the University of Michigan department of mathematics.
She has been very active in the extracurricular math community, including
past participation in the California state COSMOS program for high
school students, the Bay Area Teacher's Circle, the Davis Math Circle,
UC Davis Explore Math program, and the Canada/USA Mathcamp.
I sincerely hope that you will enjoy her talk on Musical Orbifolds and have a new friend at the end of the evening.
During the past four years,
we held Awards Ceremonies with distinguished speakers from Michigan universities,
and arranged a photo reception with Governor Granholm for the students at the Governor's office in Lansing.
The past AMC Michigan activities are archived under the Archive link on the left.
The purpose of having this page is to build a convenient tool to communicate
with the students, teachers, and the parents about our events.
The official AMC Coordinator (MAA-Michigan) website is
at the Michigan MAA site under "Competitions and Programs".
In summary, I am here to serve the students, their teachers, and parents.
Please join me in serving this wonderful community.
Sincerely,
Ada C. Dong, Ph.D.
