Welcome!
Traditionally the AMC Coordinator of MAA-Michigan holds two recognition ceremonies for
the Michigan award winners of the AMC competitions each year:
an Awards Ceremony,
and a photo reception with the Governor if possible,
This year, we will hold our Awards Ceremony at Oakland University with
Professor Dave Friday of Macomb Community College.
Professor Friday was a member of the Michigan All-Stars ARML (American Regions Mathematics League) teams when he was in high school,
and has been serving it as a coach since 2009.
Professor Friday will present his work on almost right triangles,
a topic he presented recently in various conferences in mathematics.
Since many of you love professor Friday as a coach of Michigan All-Stars (yes, I have your hand-writing notes as proofs...),
I am sure that all of you will enjoy a challenge evening with Professor Friday!
During the past six years,
we held Awards Ceremonies with distinguished speakers from Michigan universities,
and arranged photo receptions with Michigan Governors at the Governor's office in Lansing.
The past AMC Michigan activities are archived under the Archive link on the left.
The purpose of having this page is to build a convenient tool to communicate
with the students, teachers, and parents about our events.
The official AMC Coordinator (MAA-Michigan) website is
at the Michigan MAA site under "Competitions and Programs".
In summary, I am here to serve the students, their teachers, and their parents.
Please join me in this wonderful community.
Sincerely,
Ada C. Dong, Ph.D.
