Distinguished Teaching Award

Every year the KYMAA recognizes one of its own for excellence in teaching mathematics.

Nominations for the Kentucky Section's Distinguished Teaching Award are accepted before each spring meeting. The Kentucky Section Selection Committee chooses one of the nominees for the Section Award. The awardee is honored at the KYMAA Annual Meeting in that Spring.

The awardee of the KYMAA section may be placed in nomination for the MAA Deborah and Franklin Tepper Haimo Awards for Distinguished College or University Teaching of Mathematics. More information on the Haimo award can be found on the national MAA Haimo Awards website.

Although nominations for the 2025 award are not yet open, see a copy of the 2024 nomination form to start thinking about whom you want to nominate.
