Welcome!

As a tradition, AMC Coordinator of MAA-Michigan holds recognition ceremonies for the Michigan award winners of the AMC competitions each year. This year, we will hold our Awards Ceremony at Oakland University with Professor Gary McDonald. Many of you knew Dr. McDonald through your participation of MathCounts. I am sure that you will enjoy the reunion and have a nice time with him. For those of you who does not know Dr. McDonald, I wish that you will have a new friend at the end of the evening.

During the past three years, we held Awards Ceremonies with distinguished speakers from University of Michigan and Oakland University, and arranged a photo reception with Governor Granholm for the students at the Governor's office in Lansing. The past AMC Michigan activities are archived under the Archive link on the left.

This year, we might have another chance to meet Governor Granholm. Though the Governor's office cannot schedule a meeting for us at this moment, it suggested that, "should a meeting become available", it "will have the governor hand out certificates at that point". In contrast, during the last two years, her office always sent the certificates to us to distribute during our Awards Ceremony.

The purpose of having this page is to build a convenient tool to communicate with the students, teachers, and the parents about our events. The official AMC Coordinator (MAA-Michigan) website is at the Michigan MAA site under "Competitions and Programs".

In summary, I am here to serve the students, their teachers, and parents. Please join me in serving this wonderful community.
