AbstractRecent developments in the mathematics of Social Choice by Don Saari, among others, have added an element of geometry and linear algebra to a field that has been dominated by combinatorics. This talk will introduce the linear algebra behind a three-candidate election, including how symmetries underlie traditional voting paradoxes.
