Section T-shirt Design Contest for MathFest 2015
At our centennial celebration in DC, there will be a section t-shirt competition, and a day designated at the conference where everyone wears their section t-shirt. Three prizes will be awarded at the national level for:
- Highest sales per capita (where MAA will divide the number of t-shirts ordered by the official count of membership of the section in June 2015).
- Best design as judged by the Committee on Sections.
- Most notable presence on t-shirt day at the Centennial MathFest in 2015.
The prizes will be (in some order):
- An additional 5% of proceeds to the section at the section book sale following the centennial.
- One additional section visitor available to speak at section meeting in one of the two years following the centennial.
- A registration to MathFest 2016 for the section to give away or raffle off at its pleasure.
Southwestern Section Design Contest
We would like to have a design competition within the Southwestern Section to create our official t-shirt design. Details will be worked out soon: we want to have the shirts ready to go at the 2015 Section Meeting (probably May 2015). Here are the guidelines (so far) for the design:
- Artwork in Vector art - this means .eps or .AI format; a PDF can be accepted for the quote, but no work can begin until art is received in the required format
- Available sizes are S–5XL
- There is a one time screen charge for art design (approximately $22/per color)
- You are welcome to create a one color or four color design, however the more colors you use in your design the more expensive the t-shirt
- You are welcome to choose any solid color for your t-shirt (i.e.black, navy, red, etc.). The vendor, Nathan Barrett, is happy to answer any questions on t-shirt color options
- The use of MAA's logo must be approved by MAA (Cheryl Adams at cadams@maa.org) for brand purposes The MAA logo should print in either black or white ONLY on the front left breast of the t-shirts.
- The standard t-shirt stock is Gildan Ultra Cotton (100% cotton pre-shrunk)
