Tom Halverson is Professor of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science at Macalester College. He graduated from Saint Olaf in 1986 with a math major and a computer science concentration. He earned his PhD from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1993 and went straight from there to Macalester (his one and only job). He has been supported by several NSF grants to do collaborative research with undergraduates in the representation theory of diagram algebras.
