The annual business meeting of the Michigan Section-MAA will take place at 5:15 PM on May 7, 1999 at EMU. One of the major items of business is election of officers. The Nominating Committee, chaired by Hugh Montgomery (UM-Ann Arbor), will nominate a slate of candidates. Dan Frohardt (WSU), currently the 4-year school Vice Chair, will, in keeping with tradition, be nominated for Chair. Current 2-year school Vice Chair Barbara Jur (Macomb CC) will be nominated for another year's service, and for 4-year school Vice Chair the committee has picked Sid Graham (CMU). Ruth Favro continues until 2000 as Secretary/Treasurer. Nominations from the floor are also accepted (permission of the nominees should be secured in advance). The annual meeting will also have reports on Section activities during the year.
