The annual business meeting of the Michigan SectionMAA will take place at 5:15 PM on May 1, 1998, at WMU. One of the major items of business is election of officers. The Nominating Committee, chaired by Dick Phillips (MSU), is working on a slate of candidates. Bette Warren (EMU), currently the 4-year school Vice Chair, will, in keeping with tradition, be nominated for Chair. Candidates for 4-year school Vice Chair and for 2-year school Vice Chair will be presented at the meeting. Ruth Favro continues until 2000 as Secretary/Treasurer. Nominations from the floor are also accepted (permission of the nominees should be secured in advance).
The national office conducted the election for Governor. Results were not available at press time but will be announced at the meeting.
The annual meeting will also have reports on Section activities during the year.
