LSSU hosted the Upper Peninsula Regional Meeting of the MAA on October 8–9. Invited speakers were Gerard Venema (Calvin C), who gave a talk entitled “Polygonal Knot Theory and the Classification of Polygonal Chains” and Dan Maki (Indiana U) whose talk was entitled “What are Hidden Markov Models and Who Cares?”
