Invited Speakers
Spring 2007 Section Meeting

The Invited Speakers will be Art Benjamin from Harvey Mudd College and Daniel Forger of the University of Michigan.

Art Benjamin's research interests include game theory and combinatorics. He is known for incorporating mathematics and magic in his presentations, and in 2000, the MAA awarded him the Haimo Award for Distinguished Teaching.  Art Benjamin is co-editor of Math Horizons and co-author of Proofs that Count and Secrets of Mental Math.

Daniel Forger of the University of Michigan. Forger's research is in mathematical biology, and he recently produced a result with collaborators from the University of Utah on circadian rhythms that disproved prevailing biological wisdom.   Forger's work has profound implications for drug makers, and it has received national attention in the mainstream media.  http://www.umich.edu/news/index.html?Releases/2006/Jul06/r070306
