Transportation

In addition, the Normal-Bloomington (BNL) Amtrak Station two blocks from the ISU campus and is along the Texas Eagle and Illinois Service Routes.  See http://www.amtrak.com/ for more information.

ISU is also serviced by regular Peoria Charter routes (see http://www.peoriacharter.com/tickets/?mrkt=isu ) and Lincoln Land Express routes (see http://www.lincolnlandexpress.com/index.php ). 

Finally, Bloomington-Normal is serviced by the Central Illinois Regional Airport (BMI).  See http://www.cira.com/ for details.

Driving Directions and Parking

If you're using an online mapping site (Yahoo Maps, Map Quest, Google Maps, etc.), you will want to use the following address as your destination: 600 South University Street, Normal, Illinois 61761.

From the northExit Interstate 55 South at the Normal-Business 51 exit (#165). Alternatively, exit Interstate 39 South at the US-51-BR/Bloomington/Normal exit (#2). The exit ramp will take you to a stoplight, where you will turn left (south) onto Main Street. Continue traveling on Main.  See continuation below.

From the southExit Interstate 55 North at the Normal-Business 51 exit (#165-A). The ramp exits onto Main Street (heading south).   See continuation below.

From the east and westTake Interstate 74 to Interstate 55 North. Exit Interstate 55 at the Normal-Business 51 exit (#165-A). The ramp exits onto Main Street (heading south). Continue traveling on Main.  See continuation below. 

Continuation from Main Street:As you near the Illinois State campus, you should watch for, and continue past, stoplights at Raab Road, Orlando Avenue, Gregory Street, Willow Street, and College Avenue.  At College Avenue, the road veers to the right and becomes Kingsley Street.  The next stoplight will be Hovey Avenue.  Turn left onto Hovey Avenue and go through the light at Main Street.  At the next stop sign, make a left onto University Street. 

After passing Osage St on the left, the entrance to the South University Visitor’s lot (pay lot at $.80 per hour) is on the right.  See at http://maps.illinoisstate.edu/parking/visitorparking.shtml for rates.  

AFTER 7PM FRIDAY and ALL DAY SATURDAY, visitors can park in the F24 Lot for free.  To get to the F24 lot, continue past the entrance to the Visitor’s Lot and take the next left onto Dale Street.  The entrance to the F24 lot is on the left.
