The Department of Mathematics at Manatee Community College (MCC) is pleased to announce the addition of three new fulltime faculty members. Both David Nezelek and Janet Samuels come to MCC with an M.A. in Mathematics from USF, while Dr. Stacie Williams received her Ph.D. in Math Education from FSU.
Now on display in the Fine Art Gallery at MCC, the John Sims Project is the result of a joint-curatorship between the MCC Art and Math Departments. This exhibition is of particular interest to both departments as it poignantly illustrates the ways in which art and math interrelate. The exhibit helps make “art” more accessible to non-artists and helps make “math” more accessible to non-mathematicians. The show runs from now through November 8, and the gallery is open from 9 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday.
