Faculty News:
Jerry Junevicus retired after 21 years of service to the college but he continues to remain active on campus as a member of the faculty basketball team and the faculty weightlifting club.
Julia Zuev from the University of Colorado Boulder has joined our faculty. Julia’ s areas of interest are Numerical Analysis and Applied Mathematics.
Jianqiang Zhao spent all of the past Spring Semester on sabbatical at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics.
Student News:
Alexis Hurst was the 2009 recipient of the Meacham Mathematics Memorial (M^3) award as the outstanding math graduate. Alexis is planning to enroll in the math graduate program at Clemson University this upcoming Fall Semester.
Matt Gove also graduated this year with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Physics. In March 2007, Matt was selected as the ‘Sailor of the Week’ by the United States Sailing Association. He continues to be the youngest U.S. Sailing certified race officer in the country.
